Colin Stein's keyboard craft is honed from years of listening to, and emulating the great exponents of piano and keyboards in 20th century music. His sound and style, synonymous with the Chameleon, changes and blends to suit its environment. Grand piano, hammond organ, thick textured strings, or a 70's fusion moog synthesizer, all at the touch of a button. Col's masterful subtlety of performance, and dynamism would sit comfortably in any company, at any level of expectation.
With consumate ease, Paul Isaacs flowing saxophones and flute lines, front the Funky Do Da's sound. His improvisation skills stand along side his idols, Dexter, Coltrane and Bird. Exuding great passion and emotion for his art, this master musician has composed some of the bands stunning original material.
Swinging the Double bass, and 'grooving' on the electric bass, is the 'wizard' Peter Gray. Add to this, a frontline vocalist with a repertoire covering all the great styles and you have a man with no time to spare. A gifted performer, with the ability of a virtuoso, and the discipline of a team player, stints at Berkeley and tuition from the best, are the grounding for this fine musician.
The little drummer boy, is the driving force behind the 'do da' product. With good hands and big ears, Terry Morton's fresh, straight up and down approach, keeps the Funky Do Da's music easily accessible. 'On the gig' experience, has been his main training tool. Over 4000 gigs to date, including festivals, concerts, touring, recording and cabaret.
